Our Program

Little Friends Day Care Center (LFCC) continues to be a wonderful experince for my son Dorien...The staff really listen[s] to me...From the beginning...I found out quickly that LFCC had a collective body of responsible people working together to provide safety and care to the many children that come through their doors...The staff put enormous effort into teaching the children at their very own pace...I am thankful every day that LFCC has become part of Dorien's extended family

Little Friends School provides a solid Pre School program.

The children who have attended our school have moved into district classes and excelled.

It is of the utmost importance that young children learn about themselves in a constructive way so that acceptance of and belief in self is fostered. That is the major goal at Little Friends. Our children are given many opportunities to "live" important experiences. In doing so, they develop feelings of self respect, self assurance, self discipline and a healthy self image.

Just as it is important for us to learn to live with our own selves, it is also important that we establish satisfying relationships with others. Little Friends children are given the time, opportunity and guidance as they experiment with the complexities of social living.

Curriculum:

We use the Creative Curriculum. Your child’s classroom will provide numerous opportunities to learn about the world. As their abilities mature their understanding and experience of the world changes. When your child leaves she will have a foundation of the pre-academic skills needed to be successful in Kindergarten.

We also seek to teach children how to plan and organize their day. And, by providing a great diversity of materials, we encourage each child’s creativity and individual expression of their inner worlds.

Language skill development

Teachers are constantly talking with the children about their play, providing a language rich environment. All centers are labeled with pictures and words. We also teach the children to listen. Listening, a critical component of communication is important to learning and understanding one another.
